Brooke Henderson Etched into Canadian Golf History with Eighth Victory

Brooke Henderson is victorious again on the professional stage. Winning on the LPGA tour is not easy. With a plethora of consistent golfers, it requires all facets of one’s games to be clicking for four days.

For Henderson, she has taken the LPGA tour by storm with winning for the eighth time. All at the youthful age of 21. Shooting a two-under 70 at the Lotte Championship in Hawaii, Brooke secured back to back titles at this event, etching herself into the annals of Canadian golf history.

“When I was younger it was just a goal to be on the LPGA Tour, to win my first event,” Henderson said. “And when that happened and I won my first major the year after, things kind of just started to fall into place. I knew the record was eight. Just kept creeping toward it the last three years, which was really exciting.”
Brooke Henderson Exudes Clutch Play under Pressure
A year ago, Brooke Henderson would win the Lotte Championship by four strokes. Once the 21 year old feels comfortable on a golf course, she can unleash all components of her game.

Heading into the final round, Henderson would have tons of competitive golfers chasing her. LPGA household names like Minjee Lee and Ariya Jutanugarn, who were going to have to make the Canadian warm her eighth victory.

Brooke would utilize her powerful driving and iron play, while the rest of the field would make costly mistakes. She generated 8 of 14 fairways hit and 15 of 18 greens in regulation.

But down the stretch it would be her putting that would get her across the hurdle into the winner’s circle. With clutch par saves on holes 12, 15 and 16, Henderson would eventually win the golf tournament by four strokes. Elevating her into the conversation as one of the greatest Canadian golfers of all time.
Henderson Relies on Family, Fellow Canadian Golfers for Constant Support
Above all the accolades and accomplishments on the golf course, Brooke Henderson stays loyal to her family roots. From her caddie Brittany on the bag to her parents, the Canadian remains close and grateful for what they have done to enable her to have success.

There is also the ground swell of Canadian support for Brooke from her compatriots.  Alena Sharp was walking with Henderson the home stretch of her final round. And Sandra Post, who has a record eight LPGA tour victories, was able to mentor Henderson this week leading up to her historic performance in Hawaii.

“Brooke is embracing her place in the golf world right now,” said Sandra Post. “She’s calm and confident right now. It’s really amazing to watch.”
The Best Is Yet to Come for Young Brooke Henderson

For the young golf star, it still feels surreal that she has accomplished so much at her youthful age.

“It’s really amazing to even be mentioned in the same sentence as Mike Weir, George, and Sandra,” Henderson said.
